Through Large Systems Integrator:

The DOL Office of Workers Compensation Programs (OWCP) awarded a contract to provide medical bill processing services for OWCP’s Central Bill Process (CBP), to include all personnel, processes, and systems required to provide the services. CBP is a medical bill processing operation that processes bills for three OWCP programs using one centralized process, but with customized business rules for each program. The CBP provides a medical bill processing function for the programs under OWCP and provides nationwide information services to DOL employees with questions about workman’s compensation injuries and benefits and other related inquiries.

Britstan Technology provided industry experts to develop integrated computerized solutions to efficiently and cost-effectively process and manage the multiple claims that come into the CBP. Our staff worked on-site with the integrator as Business Analysts, Web Portal Developers, Web Services Developers, BPM Developers, SOA Developers, Java Developers, DBAs and Testers providing the following: business requirements gathering, functional requirements definitions, architectural designs, development of the BPM portal solution and quality assurance and testing.

Through Systems integrator:

The FAA Office of Aviation Medicine (AAM) needed to develop a Compliance and Enforcement Tracking System (CETS) to track and report on drug and alcohol testing, inspections, investigations, and voluntary disclosures among some 7,200 companies within the aviation community. The CETS application needed to accommodate several conditions: extract and preserve data from the legacy database; pull data from other FAA databases on different platforms; integrate the new CETS application with a COTS-based document management solution; service an inspection workflow comprising inspectors and remote and local users gathering data from 7,200 sites across the United States.

Britstan Technology provided technology experts to augment the systems integrator team to develop the system requirements and architecture. Britstan Technology worked on-site with the FAA and client personnel to provide guidance and expertise in the following areas: business requirements gathering, functional requirements definitions, architectural Designs, document Management Solution selection and quality assurance and testing.

Through large Systems Integrator:

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has an Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) initiative that requires a wide range of open source and vendor-based application server solutions to be consolidated. Currently, the USPTO uses the following open source and vendor-based application server solutions, which include JBoss middleware products, Sun ONE, Tomcat, iPlanet, and Websphere. The systems integrator engaged Britstan Technology to provide subject matter experts with middleware technology skills (including JBOSS) to assist in developing a migration strategy and Java Developers to assist in the migrating to the new software tools.

Through Systems Integrator:

The systems integrator asked Britstan Technology to assist with multiple projects in the office of the CIO. Britstan Technology provided Data Architects and Developers Knowledgeable about Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) Data Reference Model (DRM). The consultants assisted with a variety of projects in the following areas: researching and developing data design solutions to create detailed logical data models, develop interim tasks and validate estimates for data modeling deliverables, follow documented process and standards to create logical data models, document models in ERWIN tool, uncover and document gaps in logical data models and review and provide checkpoint status updates with stakeholders.

Through Systems Integrator:

Britstan Technology was engaged by the systems integrator to support a technology upgrade to the Emergency Operations Reporting System (EORS) software. The project also included migrating the system from Oracle to SQL Server and consolidating five geographically dispersed databases to one server using VMware to support remote clients and perform backups. Britstan Technology provided Database Architects, Administrators and Quality Assurance and Testing Consultants.

Through Large Systems Integrator:

A large systems integrator was awarded the contract to design, develop, implement (DDI), operate, and enhance the State’s health insurance exchange. Britstan Technology was engaged by the systems integrator to augment the large team by providing: business analysts with state-level ACA policy experience, quality assurance testers, EDI testers and web services developers.
